OLPL has different reading programs for patrons to participate in throughout the year. All reading programs are tracked through a website called Beanstack. Check out our programs below or stop by one service desks for more information. Thank you for participating in the Fall Reading program. Winners and prizes will be announced soon.
The Hundreds Club
The Hundred’s Club is Oak Lawn Library’s Teen and Adult reading challenge that is also a social club for patrons who love to read. The challenge runs continuously and rewards your reading with treats, treasures, and a quarterly party.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Reading to children before they enter kindergarten is one of the best ways to prepare them to become good readers. It establishes good habits and pre-reading skills in the comfort of home.
Register your child for 1000 Books at olpl.beanstack.com, then log each 100 books you read together. (Any book that is read — or re-read — to them counts!) Each time, they will earn a character sticker from Youth Services. At 1000 books, they earn a medal and a free book to take home.
Summer Reading Program
Our Summer Reading Program runs from June 1 to Aug. 1 each year, and offers many exciting programs for a variety of ages. Stop by the Library any time after June 1 and pick up a log or pre-register at olpl.beanstack.org.
