Community Display Cases

OLPL is proud to offer an opportunity for local community groups, organizations and individuals to display their art, exhibits and more to patrons.

The Library offers two forms of patron showcases, display cases and the Art Gallery, each better fit to display different types of submitted material.

All submissions must follow policy and are subject to approval of the Marketing Manager. Submitters will be contacted by the Library to schedule if their submission is chosen. Approval to display materials does not constitute sponsorship or endorsement by the Library. Selected collections will be placed on display for three months, in conjunction with the programming seasons of the Library. Patrons are responsible for the setup of their display at the beginning of the season, as well as retrieval of their display at its conclusion. The Library is not responsible for lost, stolen or broken materials put on display.

Community Display Cases

OLPL’s display cases, found across from the AV Collection, may be used to exhibit special collections, handicrafts, activities and creative works. Exhibits can occupy one of the two display cases, allowing for two members of the community to display concurrently. Each display case has four shelves that can be arranged in one of three predetermined setups selected on the Display Case application and measures 72 inches wide x 20 inches deep x 60 inches high. Shelves have a weight limit of 20 pounds each.

Exhibits for the Community Display Cases will be selected and scheduled on first come-first serve basis as is fitting to the Library’s operations. Community Display Cases may be unavailable at for a particular season due to use by the Library. In the event of an extensive weight list, community members will be limited to one display per calendar year. More information on the Community Display Cases can be found in BP 3.8 Community Use of Display Cases.
