Walk-in
Volunteers can come to the Teen Room any day it is open after 1 p.m. in the summer and after 3 p.m. the rest of the year to volunteer. They are guaranteed thirty (30) minutes for coming to the Library, but additional hours are based on the tasks available. Service may be denied based on quality (or lack thereof) of the work done. A maximum of twelve (12) hours of walk-in volunteering may be completed in a month.
Meet your Librarian
Hello there, I am your librarian, Nicholas Vidmar (He/Him). My job is to make the Teen Room an interesting, fun and safe space for you, your friends and your friends to be. I do this by leaning into all the nerdy interests, like D&D, MtG, MCU, and a host of other acronyms. I would love to hear what your interests are?
Contact Nicholas at nvidmar@olpl.org or by calling 708-422-4990 ext. 513.
Teen Advisory Board
Meet and assist in planning the Teen Room’s future! We meet monthly to talk about what’s working, what’s not and what else you would like to see!
"I like coming to the Teen Room to study and read when it’s quiet. Sometimes coming with my friends is fun and we chill at the tables while talking for hours.”

“The Teen Room is a fun place where I can go to hang with friends, get work done, or even play games! I go there to hang with friends and draw sometimes and sometimes I'll study and read the books in there but the crafts are the best!”

"Now, I may have moved. But I WILL be visiting the Teen Room events when I can. The events are ALWAYS fun. I personally LOVED the Hot Ones challenge, burnt my taste buds off. But worth every second. And the staff!? AMAZING. Love this place. Everything is truly amazing. Oh. And they have free coffee and hot chocolate. (I see you coffee Fiends.)"
