Get a Card

Library Cards

Any Oak Lawn resident can get a library card.

In-Person Registration

Register at the Customer Services Desk on the first floor of the Library to receive your library card. You will need to show an unexpired photo ID with your Oak Lawn address. If the ID does not have the current Oak Lawn address, then you will also need to bring a piece of mail dated within the last ninety (90) days with your name and address on it.

Children under 16, or any child over 16 or older without a photo ID, must be registered for their library card by a parent/guardian. The child must be present for the application process.

Online Registration

Register online to get a full access digital library card. After completing the form, you will receive an email confirmation about the account. If you have already registered before at a SWAN library, you may not be able to use the online form. Please visit us at the Library for access. Please complete the appropriate form below to start the process.

Digital Library Card Registration

Business Cards

Oak Lawn businesses, or businesses that belong to the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce, may register for a library card that is good for one (1) year. Please register in person at the Customer Services Desk. Please bring an unexpired photo ID and a piece of mail with your Oak Lawn business name and address.

Please Note:

Patrons new to Oak Lawn, who had previous cards are other SWAN libraries, may need to resolve any previous account issues prior to being issued an Oak Lawn card.

One card per person. Unless specific circumstances permit, patrons cannot have multiple cards from multiple libraries.

Oak Lawn library cards do not expire. Cards will be deactivated if the card is inactive for five (5) years.
