About the Department

The Adult Young Adult Services Department provides reference services and materials for reading, listening and viewing. The AYA Department is located on the upper level along with fiction and non-fiction books. All audiovisual material is shelved on the main floor of the Library. Our friendly staff can answer your reference and technology questions and, of course, assist you in locating materials.

How it works

  • Checkouts and returns are only at the Adult Services Desk on the second floor.
  • Three-week checkouts, no renewals. Oak Lawn Public Library card holders can place holds for most items.
  • Limit of two beyond books items per card.
  • Library patrons from other SWAN Libraries are able borrow items in person.
  • Fines and fees. Our Library does not charge overdue fines, however, the library card used to check out a Beyond Book item may be blocked if an item is overdue. Replacement fees for lost or damaged items may be assessed.

Digital Downloads

Use your Oak Lawn Public Library card to access eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, streaming music and streaming movies from home! If you need help getting started or basic troubleshooting problems, please contact the Adult Services Desk 708-422-4990, ext. 500.

The Hundreds Club
