Request an Item

To request an item, first search our catalog to see if the item is available in the SWAN consortium. If you find the item, you may place a hold there by clicking the “Place Hold” button. You will be prompted to log in with your Oak Lawn library card number and PIN to process the request.

If you have searched our catalog and not been able to find a particular item, we may still be able to request the material for you through Interlibrary Loan. Many types of materials can be requested including books, CDs, DVDs, microfilm and copies of articles.

To request an item from outside of our consortium, you may access WorldCat Discovery which will allow you to search for items and place requests. Simply search for the item you are looking for, then click the “Request Item through Interlibrary Loan” button to fill out an online form to process your request. See our brief tutorial for further guidance.

We can search for the item for you. Please fill out the form below and we will process your request. We can only accept Interlibrary Loan requests from Oak Lawn residents with a valid library card and an account in good standing.
